The story we were trying to evoke in this video was a Memorial, for the Veterans. We wanted people to recognize what out troops have done for us and how we should appreciate them. The beginning starts off with a waterfall meaning life and goes to people bowing there head, such as giving thanks to someone or praying they live in peace, and then in goes on to show pictures of back then in world war 2 and also including Pearl Harbor. The destruction and horrifying events they have gone through. Our story also shows that after world war 2 and Pearl harbor how everyone was happy and grateful for our troops and even till this day even thought we havent have a world war 3 luckily, we should still be grateful although it was a while back.
From 20 seconds to 38 seconds i am most proud because it shows what our story is all about and we were able to put it all in a short period of time. It shows pictures form back then of what happened and veterans faces. The images helped suggest the mood for this sequence becasue the music is still kind of low and sad includng the pictures of destruction, helped created the mood of what they have gone through and feeling grateful for people who are willing to give up there lives for us.
Our consideration of shapes and colors helped suggest the mood for this sequence because we made it in the sense of rememberance, gratefulnes, and although we weren't ale to use any abstract images i think out video came out great the way it is.
I learned that the interaction of music and images give a great portrayal of what you are trying to evoke, whether its sad happy, or whatever emotion your trying to let audience know. The music made a feel to the project were trying to portray. In films music is a very important detail; becuase it give the audience a feel, and i have learned that music and images have to connect together inorder to make te film look right.
The most important contribution i made this class was working with my group and trying to the best i can do, inorder for our group to work together and agree on certain things. I tried my best to make the best videos possible i can makethem look good, im grateful for learning all the techinques i have learned from Dr.A and now later on in life if i ever want to make a film i know exactly how to and how to edit a film in order for it to look good.

Final Reflection
Early in the year, i learned the importance of film editing and film making. You can see that in my first film, it was not so well put together because it was the first one i have done, including putting a film together and editing a film.Throught my projects i learned alot of things and what techniques to use for what projects. Such as in my special effects projects i learned how to use types of effects to make the image on my film look cool and add excitement too. In my jabberwocky project we read a poem and individually created a feel and experience in the poem, as each person got a stanza they created the feeling with pictures we put together, to make it look real. And i learned that once you create a film you have to insert or reflect some kind of feeling inorder for the audience to get a feel. For our project the Water is Wide our task was to listen to some music and imagine what is going on, what is behind the music? Me and my partner created a scene behind it which represented world war 2, not only did the project make me learn more how to be creative and imagine, but i realized i have more of a passion for filming then i did before.
After doing many projects in this class and Dr.A teaching so many useful techniques about filming, i believe i learned to create a new sense in the Film Industry. Idont know much, but i know now that it takes creativity and imagination. Ileanred you must create a feeling to your project, make it something people will remember and talk about. Making films is now much easier for me, now that i have got to play around with premiere pro and teach myself some things, all you have to do it look around and see if things fit they way you want it.
Taking this class was really an honor, i appreciated all the help Dr.A gave us, and for letting us loo at film in a whole new direction, how its inspiring, fun, and simply a great way to get your message out.
This class was really fun, there is alot of great people in here who i give all credit to for making there films. Some of this films i was inspired by and wanted to get to there level. But most of all thank you Dr.A for teaching us so many things we didn't know before! I hope you have a great summer!

Special Effects
Me and Blanca both found the effect by the directions that were posted on the blog, The effects were in the folder of Distort, Stylize, and Generate and each of them had different effects according to each title. To change the setting to get the effect we had to adjust the scroll bar till we got the right effect making the setting look different. We might use this in a film when we are creating something that needs special effects due to whatever purpose.

STAR PROMOTION VIDEO
I have the video its just in Dr.a's computer folder.
You should vote for mine as the best because it flows with the editing, i put in titles, and its short and sweet! :) I think Zach put a good touch into the video because he made the mood more up-beat.

Directors Cut
Putting together our Directors cut made me notice how organized it made the film, wiht the script and other methods of putting together the video, it would be hard to film all together.
By putting together our Directors cutu we notice some errors we needed to fix or sugestions other people had so we had to change it in order to film the film flow together. With the suggestion it was out benefit to making the film look good.
Some thi ngs we might of left out would be more shots at Blancas house, because when we shot the film it had a particular background so in order fors us to have a legit background we tried our best by capturing pictures and using the green screen to make the background. We also left out some facial expression shots, but all together i think we pulled it off.

The conflict was between stealing or doing the right thing. The shots were the close of up Sabrena biting her lip which showed indeciveness and guilt. You could make the voices louder so we can hear the actors. The climax occured when after she bit her lip she decided not to steal. In the resolution the two put away the make up and leave the store. You could add to the resolution by them buying something they both enjoyed for example starbucks. We especially liked the close up of sabrena biting her lip because it helped emphazise the idea that she felt bad about stealing. We think you can add a shot right before she puts the make up in her pocket with a close up of her eyes looking around suspiciously. The new shot would create a sense of suspense. We give the editing a 7. One edit we would change was the shots after sabrena bit her lip. The use of music was good it gave a sense of suspicious activity. One point in the video when the music was most important was when she put the make up in her pocket. It was used to help emphazise the mood of a criminal act. The first run through it worked but looking back you could have used a more suspensful type of song. The title reflected the content of the video pretty well. It grabbed our attention. The text of the title was very feminine and dosent seem to fit with the tone of the video. We suggest that the use of white on black Times new roman font would work better. Overall we liked your video.

The colflict was between whether to give in to pressure or do the right thing.
The shot that contributed to the rising action was when a close up of Sabrena's mouth. She was biting her lip which showed that she was uncertain about the choice that she made.
We think it would help if you would fix the clips in the beginning so they coordinate with each other. Also, we suggest to make the voices a little louder so we can hear.
In the resolution, Sabrena put the make up back and then the two girls left the store. You could add to this by having Blanca say sorry or by showing that she actually felt bad for what she was going to make Sabrena do.
We especially like the close up shot of Sabrena's mouth, but We think that it would have been more effective to show the emotion through her eyes.
We give the editing an 8 only because of the shots that were shown at the store.
We liked how well the music went with the video because it gave the audience a better feeling of suspense. It was most important when Sabrena took the make up.
We feel that the title went really well with your video. Overall, it was a good video.

Dear Blanca, Michelle, and Sabrena STORY
The main character is telling her friend to steal her friends make-up.
Here are the shots, dialog and actons that contributed to the rising action:
1. The main characters walk into their friends room.
2.They talk about stealing the makeup
3. The main character persuades her friend to steal the makeup.
Here are some suggestions about adding to the rising action:
1.
2. You could aslo make the surfing more realistic.
The climax occured when the main character comes back to return the make-up. In the resolution, the main character returns the make-up and proceeds with her day. You can add to the resolution by confessing to the main characters friend that they took the make-up. This would help give us the idea that the values in the video were stronger.
CAMERA SHOTS
we especially like the close up shot of her mouth because it emphasized the effect that she was nervous and worried. We think that you might add a shot of the main characters facial expression when she took the make-up. The next shot would be a close up of the main characters face after she persuades her to take the make-up.
EDITS:
on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the highest), we rate the editing an 7.One edit we would change was the over the shoulder shots. We would have used a cross dissolved because its cooler. The first use of music is when they talk about taking the make-up. It was used to emphasize the idea that they were up tot something in a sneaky way. It worked because it set the mood. The music was the same throughout the video . It worked because it made me feel like they were sneaky.
TITLES AND CREDITS
The title fit well with the video. The credits were fine but the music wasn't cited.
OVERALL
overall we thought your film was good. What we liked best was the close-up shot of the make-up. Our strongest suggestion is that you work on the over the shoulder shots.

The conflict was between giving in to peer pressure and doing what you feel is the right choice for you despite alternative influences.
The shots, dialog and actions that contributed to the rising action:
1.Establishing shot of the makeup
2.Closeup shot of Sabrena biting her lip
3.Blanca influencing Sabrena to take the makeup
4. Sabrena is the first to walk in the store, therefore implying she is the one in charge of her life.
Suggestions about adding to the rising action:
You could add reason why Sabrena needs to steal the makeup.
The climax occurred when Sabrena tells Bianca that if they were really best friends she would not pressure her to steal.
Describe what happens during the resolution: The makeup is put back and there is a close up of the makeup.
You could add to the resolution by having the two friends exit the store together, or have an up close of Sabrena smiling as a contrast to her biting her lip earlier in the film.
This would help give us the idea that/create the impression that Sabrena did the right thing and that Bianca accepted that fact that she should respect Sabrena’s morals.
Camera shots
We especially like the close up of the makeup, because it helped emphasize the idea that Sabrena did not steal the makeup after being pressured by Bianca.
Edits:
On a scale of 1-10, we rate the editing a 7.
One edit we would change was the shot of the conversation just before the resolution when Sabrena tells Bianca that if she were really her friend she wouldn’t pressure her to steal.
We noticed there were multiple takes of the scene, therefore, there was a fluctuation in the editing because of the character placement and the fact that each take the characters were in a different position.
Use of music and sound effects:
a. The first time the music came in was during the opening scene of the film.
It was used to help emphasize the mood of anticipation of a choice and/or morals being tested.
It worked because it did not drown out the dialog, yet it acted as an attribute to the film because it created an accent parallel to the theme of decision making.
b. The most important point use of music was when Sabrena was biting her lip.
It was used to help emphasize the mood of making a choice based on one’s own morals.
It worked because the song embodied innocence yet had a level of intensity which amplified the idea that simply stealing one thing is still a major choice.
Titles and credits:
The title is parallel to the theme and reflected the overall message of the film well.
The credits lacked citing sources for music used during the film.
Overall:
Overall, we thought your film was straightforward and had a clear message.
What we liked best was the music played throughout the film.
Our strongest suggestion is that you add a reason why Bianca wanted Sabrena to steal the makeup so badly.

Eduardo E., Ashley P., Sabrena S.
3. The credits were too big at one point, and they didn’t credit the music.
Isaiah S and Cesar J
4. I feel like you guys could have added more shots like an established shot of you guys showing up the blancas house that would of been good too.
5. The conflict was between to steal the makeup or not to steal it. Isaiah S and Cesar J
6. The music was really really good it set the right mood to the moral of the video and you should not change the mood and tempo of the music, feedback by Taylor and Jose
4 that we don’t agree with:
1. Also the over the shoulder shots make the characters move when they shouldn’t. Isaiah S and Cesar J
2. The music was really really good it set the right mood to the moral of the video and you should not change the mood and tempo of the music. Jose
3. You could add to the resolution by them smiling then walk away together. Emily K. Eduardo B
4. Our strongest suggestion is that you work on the over the shoulder shots. Jacob D and Morgan D

The Cost Of Friendship
In Our video values we are trying to represent are values of friendship, and importance of whats right and wrong.
Our group has successfully organized our time so we can all meet up at Blancas house and record together. Although we do not have enough time to meet up a second time we are going to try to green screen the video, Blanca has shot pictures at her house so that we can do everything else we need to do here at school.
We still need to complete little things such as record our voice in the documentary, and finishing the close up shots with the green screen, andlittle edits.
We need feedback about our edits, if the video is smooth, music if it matches what we are trying to portray, we also need feedback about our over all video is the message is okay and if the video looks good.
Some challenges we faced are getting everyone together to shoot, because some peopl have things to, just revolving around schedules was hard, another one would be camera shots and editing some camera shots we didnt know what to but we figured it out and talked about it, editing was difficult because some parts we messed up , and then filming again in the wrong spot made it difficult to make the video flow. One last thing that we had difficulties on were music, we could not find music that would fit in and make the video look good. We dealt with all these challenges by communicating friendly, and working around schedules, and if someone had a suggestion we talked it over and suggested that we do that. All in all our group was very successful in my opnion i thinkwe did a good job with eachother, i enjoyed working with them:)

Over the Shoulder By Jose and Michelle
In this video project I have learned many things, for one, angle postion makes a big difference in catching peoples attention. Second the whole point of this project was doing over the shoulder shots, every scene we had was over the shoulder while the actor was talking. Some thing I should have done better was that we should have probably made the angle more of one thirds angle, because when I have to check and see if our video was in the correct spot for the one thirds angle, it was off just by a little bit, so next time I do project I will be more cautious and experienced where I should angle the camera. One other thing I have noticed about our video is that lighting is a important concept to filming as well, you need the right lighting to make the film look right, not to light or not to dark. All in all working with group was entertaing but mostly productive we got along with eachother and added in suggestion to make the project less complicated. In our next project i will have more knowledge on what to and how to organize our scenes, what to say, and what angles we should do.
